2010年国际研究型大学校长联盟（IARU）大学校长年会

　　2010年国际研究型大学校长联盟（IARU）大学校长年会将在北大召开，同时北大将于4月14日下午2：00-5：00在陈守仁国际会议中心中馆举办一次小型的高等教育圆桌会议。该会议除IARU校长参加外，还有北大及北京其他研究机构知名教育学者将参与此次圆桌会议。会议将围绕3个议题进行讨论（议题见下文），同时每个议题还将有一位学者作引导性发言，并由与会校长、学者及学生共同参与讨论。

　　>国际研究型大学联盟IARU（International Alliance of Research Universities）一共包括十所院校：牛津、剑桥、哥本哈根大学、瑞士联邦工学院、伯克利、耶鲁、澳大利亚国立大学、新加坡国立大学、东京大学及北大。

　　

　　

　　会议议题：

　　1、The Globalization of Higher Education

　　

　　The globalization of higher education has been discussed extensively over the past decade. While the benefits of globalization are recognized, this session is focused on the impacts of globalization on the higher education system and the challenges faced by universities in the globalization process.

　　

　　2、Undergraduate Education

　　

　　China’s National Mid-term and Long-term Guideline for Education Development (2010-2020) calls for reform of undergraduate education, stressing the role of a university is fundamental not only to those students who will go on to be the next generation researchers, but also to those who will become society’s leaders. This session encourages case studies of best practice of delivering an education model that prepares both our future researchers and future leaders.

　　

　　3、Disciplines Structure and Resource Allocation

　　

　　For research-intensive universities, building on comparative strengths and being at the forefront of global innovation is critical.  This session is focused on how to best balance funding and other priorities around areas of greatest strength while maintaining a broader discipline base.
